Distance - -

One of the most underrated destinations to visit in Nepal, Khaptad National Park is an off-the-beaten region which stretches over the four districts of Bajhang, Bajura, Achham and Doti. The national park is covered with sub-tropical forests of Chir pine at lower altitudes and sub-alpine forests of fir, oak and rhododendron in the highlands. To get to Khaptad National Park from our hotel, we took a scenic drive to Buditola on the first day. Although the drive to Buditola is a long one, the scenery around you is mesmerizing. Then, we leave Buditola for Silgadhi driving through numerous places in between. Next day, our trek to Khaptad National Park begins from Silgadhi. We trek through Jhigrana and Bukipani until finally arriving at our destination. Khaptad National Park has a huge variety of flora, it feels like a green carpet rolling down and the view and the feel of being there is unbeatable. The park also offers excellent opportunities in enjoying the wildlife around the area.

We will go too far to western Nepal via a 50-minute flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj, and then by bus from Nepalgunj to Budhikhola. The next day, we'll drive a four-wheel vehicle to Silgadi, where we'll begin walking. The route passes through an inclined meadow and grassland, however, it is a bit steep at lower elevations.
